Match Recap: Women's Tennis |

Women’s Tennis Wraps up Spring Break Trip Matches

The women's team traveled to Orlando, Florida last week to compete in five matches over the spring break.

On Saturday to open up match play, the ladies faced both Calvin and Wittenberg.

In the matchup against Calvin, Kacey Melton and Angel Traylor won a tight doubles match at line three, 8-7 (2). Gillian Bosko and Nikki Restrepo added two singles wins at lines one and three, but the Scots fell to Calvin 3-6.

Addi Gunyon added the lone win versus Wittenberg at line four with a 10-7 third-set tiebreak win after splitting sets.

The ladies then went on to face Northwestern (UNW) on Monday. Kacey Melton and Angel Traylor again added a doubles win to keep the Scots within fighting distance at 1-2 in the match score.

Gillian Bosko and Lauren Carr both notched convincing singles wins at lines one and two, but the Scots could not overcome the Eagles and suffered 3-6 defeat.

It would be St. Benedict and Baldwin Wallace that would be the Scots' final two opponents of the week.

Covenant quickly went down 0-3 to St. Benedict after doubles, but Covenant would fight to hold on in singles. Nikki Restrepo notched a third-set tiebreak at line two and Addi Gunyon would put a point on the board at line three. However, it would not prove to be enough for the Scots falling 2-7 in the match.

Women's Tennis would not come home empty handed though. In the last match of the trip, the Scots would pull through to top Baldwin Wallace 7-2.

Kacey Melton and Angel Traylor continued their doubles winning streak with an 8-6 win at line two to help the Scots go up 2-1 after doubles. Gillian Bosko, Nikki Restrepo, Addi Gunyon, and Alexis Baker all added points to the board in singles play.
