LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The Covenant women's tennis team fell at home to nationally-ranked Sewanee, 9-0, at the Covenant Tennis Complex on Wednesday evening.
Covenant (9-9) has dropped two straight matches. Sewanee, ranked No. 7 in the nation and No. 2 in the Atlantic South Region, is now 14-3 on the year.
The visiting Tigers swept doubles action to take a 3-0 match lead and continued to stretch the margin throughout the match.
Madelyn Savage and
Gillian Bosko picked up a pair of points in an 8-2 loss at the top flight in doubles to Emma Smith and Natalia Nassar.
In singles,
Lauren Carr notched a pair of points in the opening set before falling to Nassar by a 6-2, 6-0 score.
Nicole Restrepo and
Alexis Baker also collected game wins in their singles defeats.
