GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- The Covenant men's golf team pulled together its best round of the season on Monday as the Scots posted a 309 and finished third in the rain-shortened Golden Tigers Spring Invite, hosted by Brenau and Truett-McConnell at the Chattahoochee Golf Club.
Tuesday's final round was canceled due to continued rain in the area.
Covenant's 309 placed the Scots just eight shots back of team champion Tennessee Wesleyan in the nine-team field.
Crawford Collett led the Scots with his opening-round 76, which placed him in a tie for seventh overall. Will DeMersseman carded three birdies and wrapped up day one with a 77, while Isaac Duncan and Kenny Duffin both shot a 78. DeMersseman finished in a tie for 10th overall.
DeMersseman and Duncan each had three birdies to lead the Scots.
Truett-McConnell's Michael Osborne took home medalist honors after a 1-under 71 in the first round.
