CLARKESVILLE, Ga. -- Crawford Collett carded a career-best 73 in the final round of the Piedmont Fall Invitational as the Covenant men's golf team finished eighth overall in the event at the Orchard Golf & Country Club.
Covenant had an improved performance in the second round of the tournament as the Scots posted a team score of 311, 13 strokes better than Monday's opening round. Piedmont won the tournament with a 576 (293-283), while Piedmont's Matthew Leemann was the medalist after he shot a 5-under, 139 (70-69).
Collett shot up the individual rankings with his career day. The sophomore's 73 moved him up to 14th overall in the 58-player field as he finished with a 36-hole score of 154 (81-73).
Nathan Hawkins was right behind Collett as he placed 15th in the tournament with a 155 (79-76) after shooting a 76 in the final round. Will DeMersseman shot a career-low 2-over, 74 as he shaved eight strokes off his first round total. DeMersseman ended the tournament with a 156 (82-74) and was tied for 17th overall.
John Livingston posted an 88 to finish at 180 (92-88), while Isaac Duncan had a two-day score of 171 (82-89).
