SEWANEE, Tenn. -- The Covenant men's tennis team fell at No. 28-ranked Sewanee 9-0 at the Bruton-Guerry Tennis Courts in Sewanee on Tuesday in non-conference action.
Covenant drops to 4-12 overall, while Sewanee, ranked No. 28 nationally, goes to 11-5.
Matthew Harvie and Chris Cox nearly pulled off a victory over the top-ranked doubles team in the region in Sewanee's Eric Roddy and Jack Gray. Harvie and Cox eventually fell 9-8 (9-7) in a tight match.
Sewanee was just too much for Covenant in singles play as the host Tigers picked up the shut out victory.
