RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Covenant women's tennis team moved to 9-4 overall and 6-1 in the USA South with a 9-0 shutout of conference foe William Peace on Friday afternoon in Raleigh.
The Lady Scots have won five straight USA South matches and the 6-1 start is the best seven-match start since joining the conference in 2014.
Covenant breezed past the host Pacers in the doubles portion of the match. Aly Hall and Annie DeLuca along with doubles tandems of Claire Luger and Gracie Smith and Jessica Rowe and Mackenzie Jones all recorded 8-0 victories.
In singles play, Danielle Morin picked up a 6-2, 6-0 victory at the top flight over Alexandra Dixon. Jennie Spielman was a 6-0, 2-6, 6-4 winner at the No. 2 spot and Lindsay Geving took a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 3.
The bottom half of the lineups also produced as Masha Lanska won 6-4, 6-3 at the fourth position, while Rowe took a 6-0, 6-1 decision at No. 5. Jones completed the sweep with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at the No. 6 spot.
