Men's Tennis Wrap Up Fall Season at ITA Regionals

SEWANEE, Tenn. -- The Covenant men's tennis team wrapped up the fall portion of its schedule last weekend (Sept. 30-Oct. 1) at the ITA South Regional Tournament at Sewanee. 

The Scots picked up several singles victories in the event, led by Micah Fox's run to the championship round of his draw.

Fox took three singles wins en route to the championship of the draw before falling to Mac McCollough of Sewanee 6-2, 6-1. Fox defeated Huntingdon's Adam Self 6-1, 6-1 in the round of 16 before knocking off Michael Jones from Methodist 4-6, 6-3, 11-9 in the quarterfinals. He reached the title round after defeating Sewanee's Scottie Abeel 6-3, 6-4 in the semifinals.

Elsewhere in singles, Trey Wetjen defeated Centre's Benjamin Weaver in three sets 6-2, 3-6, 9-7 in the first round of the draw. Trey Wood also collected a victory as he bested Methodist's Max Linder 6-0, 7-5 in a consolation round. Logan Hull and Chris Cox both earned spots in the main singles draw, but both fell in the first round.
