ROME, Ga. -- Both the Covenant men's and women's tennis team suffered defeats at Berry on Wednesday afternoon. The men fell 9-0, while the women lost 7-2.

The men are still searching for their first victory of the season, while the women drop to 2-3 for the year. Berry's men's squad remains perfect at 2-0 for the year and the women's team is also 2-0.

On the women's side, Molly Peele won her singles match at No. 6 over Berry's Valerie DeWandel 6-1, 6-3. Peele teamed up with Ellen Kirkpatrick to score a win at No. 3 doubles over Emma O'Reilly and Anna Kate Shepherd 8-4.

Both Covenant teams will open up USA South play this weekend. Friday's match against Greensboro has been moved to the Champions Tennis Complex in Hixson, Tenn., and will now begin at 12 p.m. Saturday's matches vs. Ferrum have been moved to Chattanooga Christian and will start at 12 p.m. also.
