MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Led by Cameron Lewis' 77, the Covenant Scots golf team sits in fourth place after the first round of the Great South Athletic Conference tournament at the Wynlakes Golf & Country Club in Montgomery, Ala.

As a team, Covenant scored a 321 for the day. LaGrange College leads the event with a first round score of 301, while Huntingdon (313) and Maryville (315) are second and third, respectively. Piedmont finished round one in fifth place with a score of 341.Lewis and the Covenant team had to battle through windy and chilly conditions during the morning hours. Alex Mosteller shot a first round 80, with Zachary Buerkle finishing one shot behind Mosteller with his 81. Trey Patterson posted an 84 and Scott McKnight rounded out the Covenant golfers with an 85.

Covenant will tee off at 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
