CLARKESVILLE, Ga. -- Cameron Lewis and Alex Mosteller have led the Scots into a second place standing through the first round of the 2011 Piedmont College Fall Invitational. A pair of 74s through the first 18 holes at the Orchard Golf and Country Club puts the two sophomores one stroke off the lead in the field of 46. The Scots have a combined 308 point total, second only to Coastal Georgia (300).
The host Piedmont College Lions (312) hold third place with Young Harris College close behind in fourth (315).
Freshmen Scott McKnight and Trey Patterson each carded an 80 to round out the scoring for Covenant.
On the women's side, Jordan Stern opened up fall play with an 85 and currently stands in 21st place in the field of 57.
The second and final round will begin Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. with the winners of the 6th annual event to be crowned later in the day.
