Chattanooga, TN- Covenant's tennis teams started the spring season this afternoon with two commanding victories over the visiting Panthers of LaGrange College.  The men's 9-0 win saw some impressive debuts by freshmen Stephen Woody at #2 singles and Tom Yates at #5 Singles.  Senior Garrett Reid had the toughest match at #1, but his fitness and experience helped him manage a come-from-behind win.  Sophomore Andy Jones played very well at #6 as did junior Brandon Snipes at #4.

On the women's side, junior Julia Myers also saw a tough match at #1, but her patience and strategy helped her to win a long and grueling three-setter.  Sophomores Stephanie Sizemore, Jane Shibley, and Casey Cochran all had remarkable performances, and the team was happy to have Annika Case and Michelle Whitbeck return to the line-up after taking some time off.

Covenant's next match is Friday against Lee University in Cleveland, TN.
