PINEVILLE, Ky.- The Scots got off to less than their best start in the two day event in Pineville, Kentucky with a first day score of 324. David Spencer led all Scots on day 1 with an opening 77 followed by Dave Wilkinson's 79. However day 2 saw improvement with freshmen Cameron Boling and Jon Spencer taking off a combined 23 shots from day one. Cameron Boling shot 77 and Jon Spencer shot 78 . "This is an important difference in our team makeup," said coach Schreiner. "Last year we had a very shallow team and only carried 4 players to the Spring events. This year we have two guys who didn't travel with us that I think can really help us, the depth is going to make a difference."
Senior Trevor Potts led the Scots on day 2 with a 73 leading Covenant to a 307 total on the final round. The Scots were edged for second place to team host Union College by a mere two shots. Reinhardt won the event with a two day total of 613, let by co-medalists Cartwright and Lindsey with two day scores of 148.
The Scots play again September 21-22 in Clarkesville, Georgia in the Piedmont Invitational.
