The Scots ended their 2008-2009 season with a 5th place finish in the 9 team field of AAC schools. The Covenant squad could not overcome their poor start and the lack of depth in their lineup. "We were a pretty good team in the Fall and I believe positioned to contend this Spring until the loss of our top senior earlier this Spring," remarked coach Schreiner. "It proved to be too much for our shallow roster to withstand." concluded the Scots coach.

The highlights of the tournament were individual efforts from sophomore Dave Wilkinson and junior Trevor Potts. Wilkinson opened the event on Monday with a disappointing 79 and followed the morning round with a 76 in the afternoon. However, Tuesday the sophomore from St. Louis fired the best round of the day, a one under par round of 71. Dave's mother and father were on hand to witness the tournament and see Dave's final 33 strokes on the back nine. The 227 three round total earned Wilkinson All Conference Tournament team honors. "It is a struggle to stay focused that first day playing 36 holes without a break," stated Wilkinson. "I was hoping to have a shot at medalist honors but really never got it going until it was too late."

Pott's followed his Monday morning round of 77 with a very solid round of 73 in the afternoon, placing him in 5th place individually heading into the final round. After a hard fought 41 on the front on Tuesday, Trevor shot 38 on the back and his 79 gave him a three day total or 229, good for 8th place. "I really feel like I struck the ball well enough to have three rounds under 75, but I am really struggling with scoring," said Potts. "I either throw it away with a putt or take a bad swipe at it with a wedge, I have been frustrated all year that there aren't more 73's on my scorecard." Potts earned All Conference honors his freshman year and missed the All Conference Tournament team this year by two shots.
