Birmingham, AL - The men's golf team finished up action in The Southern Showdown Tuesday afternoon in Birmingham, their second tournament of the year.

Finishing tenth out of twelve teams, Covenant was able to rebound slightly and improve on their position in the standings at the end of Monday's action. Sophomore Dave Wilkinson led the Scots individually in Tuesday's third and final round, shooting a 77 and finishing with a total score of 238. Also finishing with a total of 238, junior Trevor Potts shot a 78 today. Sophomore David Spencer shot an 80, giving him a total score of 239. Senior Michael Dinwiddie finished Tuesday's round with an 82, and held a Covenant-leading score of 237 over the three rounds, while sophomore Michael Bowser, shooting an 85 today, finished with a score of 270.

Taking first-place honors in the tournament was Berry College, shooting a tournament-low 291 Tuesday and finishing seven strokes ahead of runner-up Lee College.
