FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- For the second time this year, Covenant men's cross country freshman Micah Sneller has been named the USA South's Rookie Runner of the Week, announced the conference on Monday afternoon.

Sneller joins volleyball's Ginny Moore as the only two Covenant student-athletes that have earned multiple USA South weekly awards this year.

The freshman from Lancaster, Pa., paced the Scots at the Berry College Invitational with his personal record time in the 8k of 28:24.97. That finish put him in 70th place overall, out of 154 runners, and helped Covenant to a 12th place finish in the event and ninth among non-Division I teams.

Sneller has been Covenant's top finisher in four of the team's five races this year.

The cross country teams will be off next week to prepare for the USA South Championships on Saturday, Oct. 31 in Greensboro, N.C.
