DECATUR, Ga. -- The Covenant volleyball team swept Agnes Scott, 3-0 (25-7, 25-20, 25-9) on Tuesday night from Woodruff Gymnasium.
Covenant posted a season-high 14 aces in the contest led by Moore with eight.
The Scots took advantage of a 10-3 lead in the first set en route to a 25-7 victory. Covenant committed only one error to go with 12 kills on 23 attacks in the first set for a .478 hitting percentage.
The second set saw Covenant hold off Agnes Scott (0-11, 0-3 USA South). The Scotties jumped out to a quick 4-1 lead before Covenant rattled off six straight points to take a lead they would not relinquish. Agnes Scott had their most efficient hitting of the night with nine kills on 39 swings.
The third set was much like the first as Covenant just ran away with the match. The Scots jumped out to a 9-1 lead and Agnes Scott had no answer as Covenant would go on to win the set 25-9.
Tiara White posted eight kills for the Scotties as Caroline Irving set 13 assists. White led the Agnes Scott defense with 13 digs.
The Scots travel to LaGrange to take on the Panthers and Huntingdon in a quad-match on Saturday. Covenant gets the day started with LaGrange at 10 a.m. before squaring off with the Hawks at 2 p.m.
