FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Covenant volleyball senior setter Schuyler Moore has been named the USA South Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 15, announced the conference on Monday afternoon.
It is the second time in her career that Moore has garnered player of the week honors from the conference. It also marked the second time this season that a Covenant player has earned the award.
Moore, a senior from Fort Myers, Fla., nearly had triple-doubles in all three matches to help the Lady Scots to a 3-0 record on the week. The senior averaged 10.45 assists, 3.55 digs and 2.18 kills per set, while hitting .412. She tallied nine kills, 43 assists and 17 digs in a four-set win at Maryville on Tuesday. Moore then had eight kills, 35 assists, 16 digs and three total blocks in a 3-1 win over Piedmont before tallying seven kills, 37 assists, six digs, and three total blocks in a sweep of LaGrange on Saturday.
It has already been a historic season for Moore as she broke the program's career assists record earlier in the year and currently has 3,456 in her three-plus seasons. She currently ranks third in the USA South in assists per set at 8.70 and third in the league with 50 service aces on the year.
Covenant (15-7, 9-0 USA South) has won seven straight matches, and 12 of the last 13 overall. The Lady Scots host Berry on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in a non-conference matchup.
