Volleyball Announces Five Additions to 2016 Roster

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- Covenant volleyball head coach Joanna Ehman has announced the addition of five players to her 2016 recruiting class. Allie Jakes, Emily Moore, Lindsey Stephens, Chloe Storm and Haley Taylor comprise the class.

The class will offer depth on the front row for Ehman as all five newcomers have experience at those positions.

Allie Jakes - Maitland, Fla. - Orangewood Christian School

A 6-foot middle and right side hitter, Allie Jakes had a successful volleyball career at Organgewood Christian School. Jakes, the younger sister of former Lady Scot Jessie Jakes, was an All-District second team honoree in her junior year and was a team captain as a senior. She was also a two-time winner of the school's Mighty in Spirit Award.

Jakes graduated high school with highest honors and plans to major in Elementary Education at Covenant. Her parents are Jeff and Katie Jakes.

Emily Moore - Fort Myers, Fla. - Evangelical Christian School

The younger sister of current Covenant standouts Ginny Moore and Schuyler Moore, Emily Moore will look to make her own mark on the program. At 5-foot-7, Moore can play as a defensive specialist or as a right side hitter. Like her older sisters, Moore put together an impressive prep career that included being named a District 18 Player of the Year and All-Area Player of the Year finalist as a senior. She helped lead ECS to a pair of district titles, one region championship and a third place finish at the state tournament this past year.

Moore was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated magna cum laude. She plans to major in Business at Covenant. She is the daughter of Lanny and Paula Moore.

Lindsey Stephens - Durham, N.C. - Homeschool

Lindsey Stephens is a 5-foot-11 outside/right side hitter and played with the Durham Flight. She helped her team win regionals and advance to the state tournament as a senior while serving as a team captain. Stephens earned a spot on the All-Tournament team at state. After her senior year, she was invited to play and represent North Carolina in the 2016 Down Under Games in Australia and has competed on two other All-Star teams during her high school career.

Stephens is currently undecided on a major, but wants to minor in Music at Covenant. Her parents are Eddie and Linda Stephens.

Chloe Storm - Colorado Springs, Colo. - The Classical Academy

Chloe Storm, a 5-foot-11 middle/outside hitter, comes to Covenant from The Classical Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. Storm helped her team win the conference and was an All-Conference second team honoree. Additionally, she earned Academic All-State honors three times during her career.

Storm graduated cum laude and was a member of the National Honor Society. She plans on majoring in Computer Science at Covenant. She is the daughter of Greg and Joli Storm.

Haley Taylor - DeLand, Fla. - Homeschool

A 5-foot-8 outside hitter from DeLand, Fla., Haley Taylor rounds out the 2016 recruiting class. Taylor helped her team to four straight winning seasons for a high school program that she assisted in starting. Taylor was named the team's MVP, Best Offensive Player and Best Defensive Player during her career.

Taylor comes in with a high academic background as she was dual-enrolled at Daytona State College during her junior and senior years and earned President's List honors in each semester. She plans on majoring in Biology at Covenant. Her parents are Clay and Leslie Taylor.
