PREVIEW

Covenant (19-12) will make its debut in the NCAA Tournament after winning the USA South Tournament last Saturday with a 3-1 victory over two-time defending champion Maryville. It's just the second-ever national tournament for the program and the first since 1984.

Ginny Moore was named tournament MVP after tallying 43 kills and 60 digs, with double-doubles in all three matches, during last week's tournament. Schuyler Moore and Chelsea VanDyk also earned spots on the All-Tournament team. Covenant also received significant contributions to aid in the championship run from Hannah Stewart, Morgan Opgenorth, Jaclyn Stuart, Jessica Seehorn, Hannah Rogers, Olivia Becker and Mariah Corney.

Head coach Joanna Ehman, in her third year, has compiled a 67-33 record and was named USA South Coach of the Year after guiding the Lady Scots to a South division championship before winning the tournament title.

Covenant went 0-4 against teams in the Mount Berry Regional this year. The Lady Scots fell in four sets twice to Birmingham Southern and once to Berry. Emory knocked off the Lady Scots in three sets back on Sept. 11.

Thursday's meeting with Hendrix will be the first all-time between the programs. Covenant has also never faced Chicago, Thomas More or Greenville.
