FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Covenant volleyball sophomore setter Schuyler Moore has been named USA South Player of the Week, announced the conference on Monday afternoon.
This marks the fourth consecutive week that a Covenant player has earned this honor. It is the first weekly accolade for Moore in her collegiate career.
The sophomore from Fort Myers, Fla., averaged 9.17 assists, 4.08 digs, 1.33 kills and 0.58 blocks per set to help lead Covenant to a 2-1 record last week. Moore tallied double-doubles in each of the three matches. In a 3-1 loss at Birmingham Southern, Moore recorded 41 assists, 15 digs, four kills and two blocks. In a thrilling 3-2 win over USA South foe Averett, Moore totaled 41 assists, 22 digs, eight kills, four blocks and two service aces. Finally, in a 3-0 victory over USA South foe Ferrum, Moore contributed 28 assists, 12 digs, four kills, two service aces and one block.
On the year, Moore is averaging 9.30 assists per set, third-best mark in the USA South, and 2.67 digs per set.
Covenant hosts USA South rival Maryville on Tuesday at 7 p.m. inside Barnes PE Center.
