FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- For the second time this season Covenant volleyball sophomore Ginny Moore has been named USA South Player of the Week, announced the league on Monday afternoon.
Moore was also the player of the week in the conference on Sept. 21. It is also her second career player of the week honor and fourth weekly accolade from the USA South.
The sophomore from Fort Myers, Fla., helped Covenant to a 3-0 week by averaging 5.11 kills, with a .236 hitting percentage, and 4.44 digs per set. Moore tallied double-doubles in each of the three matches. In a 3-0 win over Sewanee, Moore tallied 16 kills, 10 digs and one assist. In a 3-0 victory over USA South foe LaGrange, Moore posted 15 kills, 18 digs, one assist and one service ace. She ended the week with 15 kills, 12 digs, two assists and two service aces in a 3-0 win over Huntingdon.
On the year, Moore leads the team and is second in the USA South with 4.09 kills per set. She is also averaging 3.88 digs per set and has 11 double-doubles on the year.
Covenant travels to Birmingham Southern for a non-conference match on Wednesday. First serve is set for 7 p.m. EDT.
