ATLANTA, Ga. -- Women's soccer midfielder Hannah Weichbrodt and volleyball middle hitter Chelsea Van Dyk have been selected as Great South Athletic Conference Players of the Week, announced the league on Wednesday morning.
Weichbrodt, a senior from Court Spring, Texas, scored two goals last week to lead Covenant to a pair of victories over Spelman and Agnes Scott. Weichbrodt began the scoring with a goal in the first half of Covenant's 5-1 win over Spelman, and then scored the lone goal in the Lady Scots' 1-0 win over Agnes Scott. The win over Agnes Scott meant that Covenant shared the GSAC regular season title.
Van Dyk earns the weekly honor for the second time this season. The freshman from Manhattan, Mont., tallied 27 kills and 17 digs during the week which saw Covenant win three matches. The freshman had 10 kills, 10 digs, two solo blocks, and three block assists in a 3-0 win over Spelman. She then had 11 kills and two block assists in a 3-0 win over Judson.
