Chris Cox completed his first year as the assistant coach for head coach John Hirte in 2019-20.
Cox was a four-year standout on the tennis court for Covenant. He was a three-time All-USA South honoree, earning first team honors as a senior in 2018, and was twice named to USA South All-West Division first team. Cox set the program's career record for singles wins and ended career with 56 (56-30 overall) and set the program's career doubles wins record with 55 (55-29).
In his senior year, Cox earned a fourth straight All-USA South honor as he was selected to both the All-Conference first team and All-West Division first team. He set a single-season program record with 17 singles victories, while going 17-3 overall. Cox was 16-2 in singles in dual matches, mostly coming at the No. 2 spot, and was a perfect 7-0 against USA South competition. In doubles with teammate Matthew Harvie, he went 19-2 overall, including a 17-match win streak to end the year.
Cox graduated from Covenant in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in sport administration.
