LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The Covenant women's tennis team officially opened the 2018-19 season on Tuesday night with a 7-2 loss to visiting Snead State at the Covenant Tennis Complex.

The match was originally scheduled for Sept. 25, but was moved due to weather.

At the No. 2 spot, Margo Koby made her college debut on the tennis court with a three-set victory, 2-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-8) over Meagan Moore.

In doubles, Covenant dropped a couple of close decisions. Snead State (2-2) took 8-6 victories at both No. 2 and No. 3 spots as the visitors gained a 3-0 lead entering the singles competition. Outside of the two wins, the Scots nearly got another point at No. 6, but Sara Blauw was defeated 6-3, 7-6(4) by Snead State's Katie Hill.
