FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Covenant women's tennis senior Aly Hall was tabbed as the USA South Player of the Week, for the period ending Feb. 18, announced the league on Monday.

The honor is the third of Hall's career and she become the first Covenant women's tennis player to earn a weekly conference accolade this year.

A senior from Orlando, Fla., Hall earned a 2-0 record at top singles spot and a 2-0 mark at the second doubles position last week for Covenant. In singles play, Hall defeated Belhaven's Jandayia Lubin 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (10-6) in Friday's 7-2 victory. On Saturday, Hall defeated Hanover's Meghan Farrell 6-3, 6-0 in a 5-4 loss to the visiting Panthers. In doubles, Hall and teammate Jennie Spielman combined for an 8-3 win over Belhaven's Rutchelyn Elizar and Macey Lea on Friday before taking down Hanover's duo of Cami Jones and Haley Parker 8-2 on Saturday.

For the year, Hall is 3-1 in singles play, all at the No. 1 position, and also 3-1 at No. 2 doubles with Spielman.

Covenant (2-2) is off until March 1 when it travels to face Oglethorpe.
