LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The Covenant women's tennis team finished the fall portion of the season with a 2-0 record and has been regionally ranked by the ITA, as the organization announced its poll last week. The Lady Scots are ranked 18th in the Atlantic South region poll.

Covenant joins Methodist (No. 11) as the only two USA South members in the poll.

The ranking is the fifth straight for the Lady Scots. Covenant entered the region rankings for the first time in program history on March 31, 2016 debuting at No. 19. The Lady Scots climbed to No. 16 in the April 14 poll, and have remained steady at No. 18 over the last three poll releases.

Covenant finished the 2015-16 season ranked 14th in the region by the NCAA after going 15-6 overall with an 11-1 USA South record.

In the fall, the Lady Scots picked up non-conference and non-region victories over Milligan and Snead State. Several players then competed in the ITA Regional tournament to complete the fall slate.

Covenant opens the spring season on Feb. 11 at regionally-ranked No. 10 Birmingham Southern.
