No. 21 Sewanee Too Much for Women's Tennis

SEWANEE, Tenn. -- The Covenant women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision at No. 21-ranked Sewanee on Friday night.

The loss drops the Lady Scots to 1-1 on the season, while Sewanee, winners over Piedmont earlier on Friday, goes to 2-0.

Covenant's best chance in the doubles round was No. 2 doubles team of Annie DeLuca and Lindsay Geving who fell 8-4 to Sewanee's Clementina Davila and Christina Merchant. In singles competition, Geving hung tough with Elske Parker at No. 5 before falling 6-1, 6-3.

Covenant will be back in action next Saturday, Feb. 21 at Birmingham, Alabama, against Birmingham Southern and Millsaps.
