Rowe and Landers Selected to All-GSAC Squads

ATLANTA, Ga. -- Senior Anne Marie Rowe was voted to the GSAC All-Conference team and freshman Catherine Landers earned a spot on the All-Freshman squad, announced the conference over the weekend at the GSAC tennis tournament.

Agnes Scott's Rachel Storz was named Player of the Year and Huntingdon's Britni Thibodeau was Freshman of the Year.

A native of Lookout Mountain, Rowe played most of the season at the No. 4 position. The senior racked up nine singles victories, including six in the conference, and won six of her final 10 matches of the year. In doubles play, Rowe teamed up with her sister, Gretchen Rowe, to win six matches.

As a freshman, Landers showed tremendous promise. The Dalton, Ga., resident was tied for second on the team with four singles victories, with two of those coming inside the conference. Landers also added three doubles wins teaming up with Sara Kathryn Cole.

The Lady Scots finished the spring season 4-12 overall and 4-5 in the conference in head coach John Hirte's firist season.
