Women's Tennis Defeated at Spelman

ATLANTA, Ga. -- Despite a strong performance from senior Anne Marie Rowe, the Covenant women's tennis team fell 8-1 at GSAC foe Spelman on Saturday afternoon.

Rowe won her singles match 6-1, 6-1 over Spelman's Kristyn McKinney. In doubles play, teaming up with her sister Gretchen, the Rowe sisters fell 9-8 (4) to Spelman's duo of Jasmyn Howell and Adanne Ebo.

Gretchen Rowe was defeated in singles play 6-2, 6-4 by Lauren Holloway. Catherine Landers and Sara Kathryn Cole played tough in their doubles match, but fell 8-3, while Sarah Carter and Kelsey Whitted were bested 8-2 by Spelman's No. 1 doubles team.

The women are back on the courts on Monday when they face GSAC member Agnes Scott in Decatur, Ga. Matches begin at 12 p.m.
