KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Covenant women's soccer sophomore forward Kailey Burrell earned United Soccer Coaches All-South Atlantic Region third team honors, announced the organization on Monday.
It is the first career region award for Burrell and she becomes the third Lady Scot in the NCAA era, and the first since 2017, to collect All-Region from the United Soccer Coaches.
A sophomore from Trenton, Ga., Burrell had a strong second year as she led Covenant with 10 goals, along with three assists, and 23 total points. Burrell's 10 goals ranked seventh in the USA South while she was eighth in the league in points. Burrell was a first team All-USA South and All-West Division selection. She had six game-winning goals, which tied for the lead in the USA South, including the golden goal in Covenant's 2-1 win over N.C. Wesleyan in the USA South Tournament quarterfinals.
Through her first two seasons, Burrell has totaled 20 goals and seven assists in 39 career matches. Eleven of Burrell's goals have been game-winners.
Covenant ended the year with a 10-6-3 overall record and 6-1-1 in the USA South. The Lady Scots finished second in the USA South West Division during the regular season and advanced to the conference tournament championship.
