ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Covenant women's soccer team saw its four-match win streak come to an end with a 4-0 loss at Emory on Wednesday night at the Woodruff PE Center in Atlanta.
The loss drops the Lady Scots to 8-7-1 overall, while Emory goes to 10-4-1 on the year.
Rachel Lemay made 16 saves on the night for Covenant, but Emory held a 32-2 edge in total shots and the host Eagles were able to capitalize on their chances to score two goals in each half. It was the fourth time this season that Lemay tallied double-digit saves.
Emory's Shivani Beall produced a hat trick to lead the Eagles to the win. Beall scored the eventual game-winner in the 26th minute, assisted by Caroline Moore, then added two more goals late in the second half to cap the match. Beall has scored eight goals on the year after the three on Wednesday night.
Lindsey Breskow scored an unassisted goal for Emory in the 33rd minute to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead entering halftime.
Emory's Danielle Staffin and Haley Pratt combined for the shutout at the net.
Covenant will conclude the regular season on Saturday at Wesleyan. Match time in Macon, Ga., is set for 2 p.m.
