BEREA, Ky. -- For a second time this season, the Covenant women's soccer team dominated Berea as the Lady Scots collected a 4-0 USA victory over the Mountaineers on Saturday afternoon.

Covenant (6-5, 2-1 USA South) produced its sixth shutout of the season in the process. The Lady Scots also defeated Berea (1-10, 1-4 USA South) by a 5-0 score on Sept. 2 on Lookout Mountain, but only Saturday's match counted towards league standings.

Covenant got off to a fast start on Saturday scoring three times in the opening period. Paige Simons picked up her fourth goal of the year in the 13th minute, assisted by Addy Cronan, giving the Lady Scots a 1-0 lead. It was Cronan's turn to find the back of the net later in the half as the sophomore put away an unassisted goal in the 17th minute for a 2-0 edge.

Cronan leads the team with six goals and five assists for the season.

The Lady Scots would tally one more score in the first half when Callie Bader got one by Berea keeper Amber Follin, assisted by Lizzy Hightower. The goal was Bader's first of the year and the third of her career. Covenant out-shot Berea 13-0 in the first 45 minutes of play.

In the second half, Covenant tacked on one more with Anna Robertson scoring in the 66th minute, with another assist to Hightower. The score was Robertson's first of the season, while Hightower now has two assists.

For the match, Covenant held a 22-5 edge in total shots and an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks. 16 of Covenant's shots were on target. Grace Buys recorded her first career win in the net as she went the full 90 and made three saves to pick up the shutout. Follin was peppered with shots all afternoon and made 11 saves.

Covenant will host non-conference foe Berry on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at Scotland Yard. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
