The shutout is Covenant's fifth of the year in 10 matches. The Lady Scots improve to 8-2 overall and 6-1 in the USA South, and still lead the West Division standings after the win. Agnes Scott drops to 4-5-1 on the year and 2-4-1 in league play.
Both goals came in the first half on restarts. Porch got the scoring going in the 21st minute, her first goal of the season. Late in the period, Roylston collected her first goal of the year in the 44th minute to give Covenant a 2-0 lead.
That lead stood the rest of the way. Covenant keeper Rachel Lemay collected her fourth shutout of the year, three of which have come against USA South competition, after collecting six saves in the victory.
Covenant held a 15-13 shot advantage with Porch and Summer Bader taking three apiece. Ten of those 13 shots for Agnes Scott came in the second half, but Covenant's defense and Lemay withstood the attacks to preserve the shutout.
Agnes Scott keeper Iara Moran tallied five saves on the afternoon.
Covenant will host Huntingdon for a USA South matchup on Friday, Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Scotland Yard.
