BUFORD, Ga. -- Katy Koser, a senior at Riverwood High School (Ga.) has committed to attend Covenant. By accepting the enrollment offer, Koser has expressed her intent to become a full-time student and play soccer for the Lady Scots and head coach Mark Duble in the fall of 2013.
As a member of the soccer team at Riverwood, Koser helped her team in both offensive and defensive positions during her four-year career. In her freshman, sophomore, and junior years, Koser played as a forward and center midfielder. As a senior, she is leading her team in the defensive center back position as a captain. Koser also played club soccer for several years with the Concord Fire.
As a student at Riverwood, Koser is a member of the National Art Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Beta Club, and Skills USA. Koser has consistently been a part of the Honor Roll over the past four years as well.
Koser is thinking of majoring in psychology. She also has a strong interest in photography. When asked what most excites her about attending Covenant, Koser said, "I'm really excited about meeting new people and growing in my relationship with Christ. I believe Covenant will be a great environment for me to be able to grow in my faith and live in fellowship with other believers."
Duble believes that Koser will bring significant strength to the already growing 2013 class. "Her vision, strength on the ball and tremendous competitive spirit on the pitch will be a great addition to the team," said Duble. "She is a leader on and off the pitch and we are very excited about having Katy as a Lady Scot."
Duble, along with the rest of the Covenant women's soccer coaching staff and team, are pleased to have Katy Koser join the Lady Scots for the 2013 season.
