KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Covenant women's soccer team has been honored with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Silver Award for Team Ethics for the 2012 season, announced the association recently.
In all, 74 teams received either the Gold, Silver or Bronze version of the Team Ethics Award, which recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season
Covenant had just one yellow card this year. The Lady Scots are one of 48 teams (both men and women) to claim the silver award and one of 74 teams to earn one of the three honors.
Covenant last earned a Team Ethics Award in the 2010 season.
The Lady Scots finished the season 15-5-1 and claimed a share of the GSAC regular season title.
