All three players were also named to the Great South Athletic All-Conference team earlier this month.
Newsome led Covenant with nine goals this season. The senior from Aichi Gun, Japan, had a two-goal match in a 4-0 victory over Greenville. She also led Covenant in total points with 19. Of her nine scores, six were game-winners. The Lady Scots were 8-0 when Newsome scored this year. Newsome finished second in the Region Player of the Year voting to Trevecca Nazarene's Brooke Gann.
Allison, a native of Birmingham, Ala., aided a strong defensive effort throughout the season as the Lady Scots allowed just 16 goals by opponents (0.75 goals against average). With Allison protecting the back line, Covenant had 11 shutouts on the year. Allison also found the back of the net twice, including the game-winner against Huntingdon.
Battling an injury for the majority of the second half of the season, Cross finished second on the team in goals (five) and total points (15), while leading the Lady Scots in assists with five. The senior from Charlotte, N.C., played in 20 matches, starting 18. She produced a pair of game-winning scores coming against GSAC foes Huntingdon and Salem.
