LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The bracket has been set for the 2012 NCCAA Women's Soccer Mid-East Region Tournament. Covenant drew the second-seed and will face the winner of sixth-seeded Tennessee Temple and third-seeded Trevecca Nazarene on Friday, November 16 at 6:30 p.m. on the campus of Campbellsville University.
The field includes six teams in all. Campbellsville is the first seed followed by Covenant, Trevecca Nazarene, Bluefield College, Union (Tenn.) University, and Tennessee Temple. Tennessee Temple and Trevecca Nazarene square off on Saturday, November 10 in Nashville with the winner moving on to face the Lady Scots.
Should Covenant win, they will be in the championship match on Saturday, November 17 at 6 p.m.
Covenant finished the regular season at 15-4-1. The Lady Scots defeated Tennessee Temple 2-0 earlier this season. The Lady Scots did not face Trevecca Nazarene this season.
Katelyn Newsome led Covenant with nine goals this season and seven Lady Scots earned all-GSAC honors last week. As a team, Covenant has 11 shutouts and have allowed just 14 scores all year.
