BREVARD, N.C. -- Taylor Robinson scored all of her game-high 16 points in the second half to lead the Covenant women's basketball team over Brevard, 63-54, on Saturday afternoon at Boshamer Gym.

The win gives Covenant (8-14, 6-8 USA South) the season sweep over Brevard (9-13, 5-10 USA South). The Scots have won the last six meetings against the Tornados.

Robinson scored nine points in the third period and seven more in the fourth for her 16-point effort, while also tallying four assists and two steals in the win. Raquel Rosa scored 10 points and had three steals. Joanna Smith and Kaley Hallmark had nine points and nine rebounds apiece.

Trailing at halftime, 28-24, Robinson and the Scots roared back over the final two periods to earn the road victory.

Covenant used a 9-0 run to start the third quarter, capped by a 3-pointer from Robinson that gave the Scots a 33-28 lead with 5:42 left. Up by three (35-32), Robinson hit a layup and an ensuing technical foul on Brevard allowed her to hit two free throws to make it 39-32 at the 2:04 mark of the quarter.

A Smith layup near the end of the third gave the Scots a 41-35 lead entering the final 10-minute stanza. The Scots extended the lead to 12, the largest of the day, after a pair of Robinson free throws ended an 8-2 spurt with 6:43 remaining.

Brevard got within two at 49-47, but a Robinson 3-pointer followed by a Rosa jumper and another basket from Robinson on consecutive possessions pushed the margin back to six (56-50) with 2:32 left. Covenant then sealed the game with under a minute as Robinson found a cutting Hallmark for a layup just before the shot clock expired to make it 60-54.

Covenant shot 50 percent (22-of-44) for the game and 15-of-24 at the foul line. The Scots held a 34-29 edge in total rebounds.

Brevard was led by 13 points from both Ty'She Washington and Destiny Williams. Williams also added eight rebounds and three steals. Deja Riddick contributed 11 points and seven boards. The Tornados were limited to 39.3 percent (22-of-56) shooting and went just 4-of-7 at the free throw line.
