MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Raquel Rosa and Joanna Smith each had double-doubles, but the Covenant women's basketball team fell to Huntingdon, 64-53, on Saturday evening inside Roland Arena in Montgomery.

The loss drops Covenant to 5-13 on the year and 3-7 in USA South play. Huntingdon completes the regular season sweep of the Scots and moves to 14-4 overall and 7-3 in conference.

Rosa recorded her first career double-double as she led the way with 15 points and a career-high 10 rebounds. Smith also added a double-double with her 13 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Kaley Hallmark had seven points and four rebounds, while Hannah Monday came off the bench for six points and Taylor Robinson dished out four assists.

Both teams struggled out of the gate, as the game was 30 minutes late in starting due to the preceding game in Roland Arena running long and a tornado warning that was issued for the area. Huntingdon took a 9-6 lead into the second period before the pace picked up. The host Hawks shot 50 percent in the second quarter, but only led 27-18 at the half.

Covenant made its move in the third quarter. The Scots trailed by 10 midway through the period, but ended the quarter on a 10-3 run. The spurt was capped by a Hallmark layup that brought the Scots to within three (38-35) at the end of the period. Monday had all six of her points in the game during the key stretch in the quarter to get Covenant back in the game.

Huntingdon maintained a two-possession lead for much of the fourth quarter. A pair of made free throws from Smith got the Scots within four at 52-48 with 4:04 remaining, but six straight points from the Hawks pushed the margin back to 10 and the hosts were able to hold on from there.

Covenant connected on 36.1 percent (22-of-61) from the field and 8-of-14 at the free throw line. The Scots held a 42-38 rebounding edge.

Huntingdon was led by Shaonica Thomas' game-high 24 points to go along with nine rebounds. T.I. Duncan added 17 points and six boards for the Hawks. Huntingdon shot 42.4 percent (25-of-59) for the game and went 11-for-16 at the foul line.
