LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The Covenant women's basketball program is set to travel to Guatemala for a week-long mission trip. The program has partnered with Sports Ambassadors, a ministry of One Challenge International.

12 members of the team along with head coach Sarah Harris and assistant Kiaira Cooper will be traveling. The team leaves on May 8 and will return on May 17. While on the trip, the team will compete against local Guatemala teams, conduct basketball clinics locally and partner with some existing local ministry organizations.

"Ultimately, the purpose of the trip is to continue to seek to serve God through the gifts and opportunities He has given us and expand our perspective of this goal beyond our local context while also encouraging and serving the church in Guatemala," Harris said.

The majority of the trip will be spent in Guatemala City, Quetzaltenango, and Huehuetenango.
