FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Covenant junior Aleigha Williams' last second shot in the second quarter against Averett on Feb. 5 has been voted as the USA South's Women's Basketball Play of the Month for women's basketball, announced the conference on Thursday afternoon.
It is the second time this year that a Covenant player has had the Play of the Month. Joanna Smith took home honors in November.
With 140 votes, 71% of the vote (195 total votes cast), play #2, Covenant's Aleigha Williams hitting a one-handing runner in the lane at the end of the second quarter versus Averett earned USA South Women's Basketball Play of the Month honors for February. This play will now be eligible for the USA South Women's Basketball Play of the Year which will be announced at the conclusion of the regular season.
