MOUNT BERRY, Ga. -- Six program records fell for the Covenant track and field teams over the weekend at the Berry Field Day Invitational, hosted by Berry College. The men placed 16th overall in the meet and the women were 20th.

Despite cold conditions during the weekend, both teams had three records apiece broken while several runners also set personal records in the meet.

Lilly Smith set the pace for the squads as she broke a pair of program records. On Friday, Smith finished ninth overall and had a personal and program record time of 4:55.43 in the 1500 meter run. In the 800 meter on Saturday, Smith finished in a time of 2:26.57 to set the program mark and place 11th in the event.

On the men's side, Matt Seitz blazed to a program record in the 5000 meter on Friday with his time of 15:52.48, which was good for 18th in the event. Seitz's time was 17 seconds faster than the previous program mark.

On Saturday, William Bryan continued to impress in the 200 meter as he finished in 22.04 to place seventh overall. Bryan has set new personal and program record marks in each of the last two meets. In the 3000 meter steeplechase, Micaiah Allison topped his own program record by finishing in a time of 10:27.69 and third overall.

The women's side also saw several personal records set. Michelann Settle and Hannah Samuels both had personal bests in the 5000 meter on Friday as Settle finished in 19:02.06 and Samuels in 19:36.71. Samuels also had a personal record in the 800 at 2:38.14.

In the 1500, Margaret Fitch was the second finisher behind Smith as she finished in a personal record time of 5:08.42. Virginia Kay Roberts came in at a time of 29.78 in the 200 meter to set her personal best. The women also competed in the 4x100 relay for the first time in program history and the quartet of Hannah Hennigh, Roberts, Gracie Holbrook, and Abigail Wallace finished in 55.38.

For the men, the Scots had more personal records in the 1500 and 5000 meter runs. Leif Le Mahieu (4:20.10) and Allison (4:21.83) set their marks in the 1500, while Caleb Aikens recovered from a fall in the 5000 meter to finish in a PR time of 16:15.03.

Covenant also had strong times in the 400 as Tristan Dunlavy came in at 51.60 and was 13th overall while Ari Zorns had a time of 11.43 in the 100 meter dash, narrowly missing his personal best.
