LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Covenant senior third baseman Jordan Brett can add one more honor to her remarkable career. Brett was voted to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Atlantic Region third team, announced the organization on Monday night.
Brett becomes the first player in the NCAA era to earn an all-region honor. She was also a first team All-USA South West Division selection this year.
A senior from Swainsboro, Ga., Brett capped her career by hitting .397 with a career-high eight home runs to go along with 34 RBIs and 32 runs scored to help Covenant to a 22-17 record. Her eight home runs were tied for third-most in the USA South while she was seventh in RBIs. Brett produced 12 multi-hit games and led the team with 11 multi-RBI games, including five three-RBI contests. She also had two hit streaks reach double-digits on the year, with a season-best 13-game streak.
Defensively, Brett was stellar again at third base. She committed just three errors in 150 total chances on the year and helped turn five double plays.
She finished her playing career as the program's all-time record holder in several offensive categories, including batting average (.407), total hits (189), doubles (57), multi-hit games (55) and multi-RBI games (38). Her 17 career home runs and 118 RBIs both rank her second in program history. She is also just the second player in program history to accumulate at least 100 career RBIs and 100 career runs scored.
All-Region players are nominated and selected by NFCA member coaches in each of the eight Division III regions.
