Huskey Commits to Covenant Softball

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- Sarah Huskey, a senior at Osceola Fundamental High School in Seminole, Fla., has committed to attend Covenant College. By accepting the enrollment offer, Huskey has expressed her intent to be a full-time student and play softball for head coach Sara Russell starting in the fall of 2016.

Under coaches Dion Weaver and Jerry King, Huskey played the previous four varsity seasons as a pitcher and outfielder. She's played with the Pinellas Warriors travel team, under head coach Guy Gannaway, where her current batting average is .355. Outside the diamond, Huskey has excelled in the classroom.

"I chose to go to Covenant, because it is the perfect fit for me. Not only because of softball, but because it is a wonderful place to continue growing in my faith for these next four years," said Huskey about her decision to attend Covenant. "As for softball at Covenant College, I am beyond blessed to have such a caring and dedicated coach and I can't wait to be a part of the Covenant softball family."

Huskey shared what she will bring to Covenant's softball program, "I will bring my fun personality and hard-working attitude to the softball program and I will try my best at every position I am asked to play. I am thrilled to start my next journey in life at Covenant College next fall and thankful the Lord led me to such an amazing place."

Huskey plans to major in Business and minor in Music while at Covenant.

Russell, along with the team and her coaching staff, are pleased to have Sarah Huskey join the Lady Scots in 2016.
