Softball Gains Commitment from Carsyn Stone

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- Carsyn Stone, a recent graduate of Savannah Christian Preparatory School (Ga.), has committed to attend Covenant College. By accepting the enrollment offer, Stone has expressed her intent to become a full-time student and play softball for head coach Sara Russell beginning in the fall of 2015.

Stone pitched and played the outfield during her high school career. Stone lettered all four years for head coaches Brooke McMillan and Cindy Boomhower. She earned All-State second team honors as a junior and was an All-Region first team selection after her senior year in which she batted .500. Stone also played travel ball with the Angels 18U for coaches Rick Patrick and Craig Stanfield for two years.

"I wanted to come to Covenant because it's a small, private Christian school and a great fit for me," Stone said about her decision. "I hope to bring a positive attitude to the program, motivate my teammates and eventually be a team leader."

Stone plans to major in Biology.

Russell, along with the team and her coaching staff, are pleased to have Carsyn Stone join the Lady Scots in 2015.
