LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- Cris Gant, a senior from Gardendale High School (Ala.) has committed to attend Covenant College. By accepting the enrollment offer, Gant has expressed her intent to become a full-time student and play softball for the Lady Scots and head coach Sara Russell beginning in the fall of 2014.

She played travel ball with the Birmingham Vipers under head coach Rodney Dickerson and the Alabama Crusaders coached by Ken Hall.

"I chose Covenant because I felt that it gave me a large opportunity to grow stronger in my faith and use that in my future career," stated Gant. "Covenant softball will give me a resource to continue my softball career and help me build strong, Christian relationships."

Gant plans to major in Psychology while at Covenant.

Russell, along with the team and her coaching staff, are pleased to have Cris Gant join the Lady Scots in 2014.
