FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Freshman third baseman Jordan Brett and sophomore utility player Morgan Lane were both voted to the USA South All-Conference second team, announced the league on Wednesday morning.
Brett, a freshman from Swainsboro, Ga., is batting .416 this season, which leads the team, with a team-leading four home runs and 33 RBIs. She was named USA South Rookie of the Week on Monday after batting .684 in six games last week. Brett is currently on a 12-game hitting streak and has produced 15 multi-hit games this season and 10 multi-RBI games.
Lane, a sophomore from Chattanooga, Tenn., is batting an even .400 with three homers and 30 RBIs on the season. She tied a school-record with seven RBIs and set a program record with five hits in a game at Sewanee earlier this season. Lane has recorded 16 multi-hit games and nine multi-RBI games this year.
Sophomore pitcher Hannah Rogers was Covenant's representative on the All-Sportsmanship team.
The USA South named Meredith's Amanda White as Player of the Year, Piedmont's Jordin Ellingson as Pitcher of the Year, Averett's Jessica Long as Rookie of the Year and Ferrum's Amanda Robertson as Rookie Pitcher of the Year. Piedmont head coach Terry Martin was voted as Coach of the Year.
