Softball Adds Massetto for 2014-15

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- Jacey Massetto, a senior at Trinity Classical Academy (Calif.), has committed to attend Covenant College. By accepting the enrollment offer, Massetto has expressed her intent to become a full-time student and play softball for the Lady Scots and head coach Sara Russell beginning in the fall of 2014.

For the last three seasons at Trinity, Massetto's primary position was first base. She batted .400 her junior season with the Lady Knights under coach Craig Massetto which led to two separate Player of the Game honors. Outside the diamond, Massetto scored a 1980 on the SAT and holds a 4.85 GPA in the classroom. In addition to her hard work on the field and in the classroom, she made time to make several mission trips to Mexico and recently to Uganda.

"I chose Covenant because academically it had the courses I want to study, but it also has an amazing culture. I could tell right away that Christ is a huge influence on the school, and I loved that about it," said Massetto. "I loved coach Russell from the moment she called me. She was so encouraging and supportive. I love her vision for the program and can tell that playing softball at Covenant will help me spiritually as well as giving me the opportunity to play the sport I love."

Massetto plans to major in Community Development while at Covenant.

Russell, along with the team and coaching staff, are pleased to have Jacey Massetto join the Lady Scots in 2014.
