CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Beth Harris knows what it takes to succeed. A 2012 Covenant graduate and a four-year player on the softball team under head coach Sara Russell, Harris is now making strides in the professional realm of the banking industry.
During her time at Covenant as a student-athlete, Harris was a 2-time NCCAA All-American and is the school's career leader in several offensive categories including home runs (32), runs batted in (124), batting average (.358), slugging percentage (.660), doubles (29), triples (12) and games played (158).
Although she was magnificent on the field, Harris also thrived in the classroom. She was an Appalachian Athletic Conference All-Academic in 2010 and in 2012 earned Great South Athletic Conference All-Academic honors as well as NCCAA Scholar-Athlete accolades. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business with a concentration in Marketing.
Soon after graduation, Harris was hired by FSG Bank as a marketing assistant. This past May marked her one year anniversary of working with the bank.
Harris says her time at Covenant "prepared her for the workplace through the rigorous demands of academics and athletics." She recalls her marketing professor discussing the importance of branding along with understanding company culture and consumer behavior.
In her senior year, Harris, through the assistance of professors in the business department, obtained a paid internship in marketing at FSG. She was then brought on full-time shortly after graduation.
In addition to working at FSG, Harris also assists with the Lady Scots softball program as a part-time assistant coach.
