Lady Scots Defeated by Huntingdon Twice

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The Covenant softball team dropped a pair of games to GSAC leader Huntingdon on Tuesday afternoon in Montgomery. Huntingdon took both games by a final score of 10-2 in five innings.

Covenant drops to 6-26 overall and 5-9 inside the GSAC. Huntingdon improves to 19-9 on the season and the Hawks remain perfect in league play at 12-0.

Jenni Jobe continued her hot hitting for the Lady Scots as she went 3-for-6 with a run scored and an RBI on the day. Jobe batted .611 over Covenant's six games last week. Morgan Lane notched two hits in the first game, while Chandler Shepherd had a hit and an RBI in the second game.

Huntingdon got out to a quick start in each of the games. The Hawks scored four runs in the first and second innings of game one, and also put up a four spot in the first inning of game two. Halleigh DiNicholas went 4-for-5 on the day with two home runs, four RBIs, and four runs scored.

Cori Hilt (4-12) gets the loss in the first game for Covenant. Hilt went all five innings and allowed 10 runs, though just three were earned. Hannah Rogers (1-11) is saddled with the loss in the second game.

Covenant will play its final regular season games on Saturday when they travel to Decatur, Ga., to take on Agnes Scott. Game one is set for 1 p.m.
